Unreleased Apple products revealed in designer Hartmut Esslinger’s upcoming book »

German designer Hartmut Esslinger’s (the founder of Frog Design, the firm responsible for some of Apple’s most iconic products of the 1980s, including the Apple IIGS and the Macintosh II) new book Design Forward “overviews ‘strategic design’, and how innovative progression has sparked creative change in the consumer market, especially for one of the most successful American companies ever built: Apple.”

Esslinger provided the designboom team with photos of several product prototypes, including an all-in-one, dual-screen Mac workstation and a touchscreen-based Macphone — a stylus-based Mac fused with a corded telephone. There are also several different takes on the classic Macintosh design and a better look at the Tablet Mac prototype circa 1982.

Brazil wine distributor Mistral does most of its sales over the Internet but was looking for a brick-and-mortar outpost where clients could savor their experience, so it commissioned Studio Arthur Casas to create a store that truly showcased the product. […] Curving interior walls artfully break up the 100-square-meter space while maximizing the area by creating a series of separate zones: sales, cellar, storage, interactive gallery, reading room, and, of course, tasting. Along with the recurring wooden laths that line the interior, the bottles themselves become a graphic motif that appears to suspend along the illuminated paths.

The BookArc is the cunning desk stand for Macbook. The BookArc contains hidden cables underneath the arc for better management with connectors. And eventually you get more space on desktop for other things.
